Meliá Hotels International has announced the expansion of its INNSiDE by Meliá brand in the Dominican Republic, which is considered a strategic destination for the company. The plan includes the opening of two new properties in Punta Cana. It is noteworthy that these will be the first Meliá franchise hotels in the Caribbean, which will be an important milestone in the group's regional expansion.
The INNSiDE by Meliá brand, currently operating 45 hotels in Europe, Asia and the Americas, provides an informal and affordable lifestyle in both urban and tourist destinations around the world. The brand adapts flexibly and innovatively to meet the expectations of today's travelers, whether they are traveling for leisure or business. INNSiDE Punta Cana Downtown and INNSiDE Punta Cana Bay are two new projects developed by the Spanish company Vivantia Homes, which are scheduled to open in 2027. Both projects are strategically located a few kilometers from Punta Cana International Airport.
INNSiDE Punta Cana Downtown, with 290 rooms, is located in the urban and central core of Punta Cana, offering proximity to various commercial areas, day and night entertainment venues and residential projects in a safe and family-friendly environment. Meanwhile, INNSiDE Punta Cana Bay, with 186 rooms, will be located on Arena Gorda Beach, one of the largest beaches in Punta Cana.
This area is characterized by palm trees, lush vegetation and turquoise waters and is very popular with water sports enthusiasts. Nature lovers can visit the Ojos Indígenas Ecological Park, a private reserve with trails leading to freshwater lagoons. In addition, the region has several places of cultural and historical significance, such as Altos de Chavón, an architectural replica of a 16th-century Mediterranean village, and the island of Saona, which is part of the Parque Nacional del Este and is known for its exceptional natural beauty.
Both hotels will offer a diverse range of dining options, including a restaurant, café and takeaway service. They will also provide a wellness area, inspiringly designed meeting rooms, a swimming pool, a gym and a cinema. INNSiDE by Meliá hotels are designed for social and professional meetings with an emphasis on innovation and functionality. They will offer healthy beverages, yoga classes, bicycle tours, modern gyms and conference rooms designed to enhance creativity. In addition, the brand aims to celebrate the local culture in each destination by organizing events and showcasing the work of local artists. Gabriel Escarrer, Chairman and CEO of Meliá Hotels International, said: "Our goal is to strengthen our leadership position in the Caribbean by providing a diverse and personalized hotel offering tailored to a new generation of travelers.
