Lufthansa re-launches Riyadh-Munich route with three weekly Airbus A350 flights starting October 2025

With the new connection from Riyadh to Munich, Lufthansa plans to increase its air traffic in Saudi Arabia by around 50 percent. Starting with the upcoming winter schedule 2025/26, on October 27, 2025, Lufthansa will open this route, which was previously served until 2017. The airline will take up to 300 passengers every Monday, Wednesday and Friday morning, offering a direct five-hour flight to Munich, Lufthansa's southern German hub. This service will improve connections between the Saudi capital and Lufthansa's wider network.

Passengers from Saudi Arabia and the Middle East will soon have easier access to Munich Airport's five-star Skytrax terminal. The new LH641 flight departs Riyadh at 6:25 am and arrives in Munich at 10:25 am local time, providing ideal onward connections. The return flight departs Munich every Sunday, Tuesday and Thursday at 21:45, arriving in Riyadh at 4:50 the following morning. This complements Lufthansa's existing daily Riyadh - Frankfurt flights, offering passengers alternative schedules.

Lufthansa has been serving Saudi Arabia for 65 years, recently celebrating its anniversary in Dammam, the airline's first Saudi destination. Demand from Riyadh continues to grow due to the city's expansion and important events such as the Expo 2030 World Expo and the 2034 FIFA Men's World Cup as part of the Saudi Vision 2030 program, both of which will require increased aviation capacity.
