Etihad Airways, the national airline of the United Arab Emirates, and leading Spanish carrier Air Europa intend to work on a strategic partnership, strengthening commercial and operational ties to provide travelers with greater choice, higher quality services and increased value.
From summer 2025, Etihad will increase its flights to the Air Europa hub in Madrid to twice daily, providing seamless access between Abu Dhabi and Spain. The partnership will further strengthen connections between Europe and Latin America, the Middle East and Asia, creating convenient travel options in these key regions.
Arik De, Chief Revenue and Commercial Officer, Etihad Airways, said: "We are in discussions to establish a strategic partnership covering a range of activities, including deepening our codeshare and frequent flyer program, enabling both airlines to reach new frontiers, and a potential wet lease deal for an Air Europa aircraft between Madrid and Abu Dhabi.
