Air Canada launches baggage tracking across Europe

Air Canada has introduced baggage tracking to several destinations across the Atlantic, providing passengers in Europe with a stress-free journey when flying with the Canadian carrier.

Passengers flying from London, Paris, Dublin, and Edinburgh can now track their luggage with the Air Canada app's tracking feature. The feature is also available for customers traveling from Rome, Milan and Copenhagen.

Outside of Europe, Air Canada has also introduced baggage tracking in the following destinations in Asia Pacific and Latin America: Tokyo (Haneda and Narita International Airports), Beijing, Shanghai, Singapore, Bogota, Cancun, Buenos Aires, São Paulo, Mexico City, Punta Cana and Tulum.

Checked baggage is routinely scanned during transit through airports that have baggage tracking. With the Air Canada app, customers can track the movement of their checked bags at the airport from check-in and boarding to connections and arrivals, providing assurance every step of the way.

The tracker's benefits include the "What's Next" function, which tells customers which carousel to pick up their luggage from, as well as the transfer point or location at the end of the trip where they can pick up their luggage.

In the rare event of a baggage delay, customers using the app are notified - along with a standard text message and email - and given the option to easily file any baggage delay claim. They then receive a confirmation of receipt of the claim, as well as a file number and a link to respond to any updates.

Since its launch in 2023, Air Canada's baggage tracking feature has been a hit with passengers, providing them with greater peace of mind and transparency throughout their journey. The feature was rolled out in the United States and Canada before being added to airports outside of North America.
